Most child sexual abuse gangs are made up of white men, official study finds
It is a shame, really, that some only seek to use the issue of child sexual abuse to dehumanise immigrants and non-white communities, instead of standing up to the evil itself.
But then again, considering that fascist groups themselves harbour sexual predators and abusers of women, what else can you expect from them?
At least now there is an official counter to that narrative. A Home Office study covering England, Scotland and Wales has found that the majority of child sexual abuse gangs are made up of white men — directly dispelling the myth of "Asian grooming gangs" popularised by the far right.
Child sexual abuse is a horror wherever it occurs, and it must be confronted honestly. That means following the evidence, protecting children, and refusing to let the suffering of victims be hijacked for racist political projects.
